Elon Musk, the Tesla and SpaceX chief executive, exchanged emails directly with Jeffrey Epstein across at least an 18-document span between September 2012 and September 2014, according to records in the federal archive. The correspondence, drawn from the EFTA production, shows Epstein repeatedly inviting Musk to his private Caribbean island and his Zorro Ranch property in New Mexico, coordinating logistics through his scheduler, and at one point proposing to bring assistants to visit a Musk company facility. Musk's replies range from tentative acceptances to a declined invitation to a New York event.

The earliest documented exchange came on September 9, 2012, when an unnamed correspondent emailed Epstein asking, "Do you know Elon Musk? If so, can you make an intro?" (email to Epstein, September 9, 2012).
By September 24, 2012, Epstein and Musk had met. A forwarded chain shows Chicago businessman Nicholas J. Pritzker writing, "Whoa! Elon is doing great as you saw. Thanks for another mind bending time," and Musk himself telling Epstein, "That was indeed a very enjoyable conversation!" (Musk to Epstein, September 24, 2012).
The next day, Epstein extended a direct invitation:
"IF you find some time, come vist me on my island in the caribean. bring your friend or friends. i will be there most of nov and dec."
Musk replied, "Sounds good, will try to make it." (Epstein–Musk exchange, September 25, 2012).
On October 4, 2012, Epstein invited Musk to Paris ("bein paris 17-20, come, stay, plenty of room and much fun"), and a separate message that day — forwarded from SolarCity co-founder Peter Rive to Musk — asked, "Are we in New Mexico?", a reference consistent with Epstein's Zorro Ranch property (Epstein to Musk, October 4, 2012; Rive–Musk forward, October 4, 2012).
By early November, the two were coordinating a visit for December 28–30 (Musk–Epstein exchange, November 2, 2012). On November 24–25, Epstein asked how many people would be flying by helicopter to the island. Musk answered, "Probably just Talulah and me. What day/night will be the wildest party on your island?" — a reference to his then-wife, actress Talulah Riley (Epstein–Musk exchange, November 24–25, 2012).
Ahead of the trip, Epstein wrote that the island's atmosphere "might make Talilah uncomfortable" regarding the "ratio" of guests; Musk replied, "Ratio is not a problem for Talulah" (Epstein–Musk exchange, December 25, 2012). Three days later, the two finalized logistics for a stop at Epstein's island the evening of December 28, after time in St. Barts (Epstein–Musk exchange, December 28, 2012; [vol00011-efta02706068-pdf)).

In February 2013 the direction of the invitation reversed. Epstein wrote to Musk, "look forward to seeing you. I can either come wtih assistants (four,) or alone. They might enjoy the facility if ok with you" (Epstein to Musk, February 21, 2013). The documents do not specify which Musk company facility was under discussion.
Days later, Epstein's longtime scheduler Lesley Groff forwarded a passport document for Musk in an email titled "Passport," dated February 22, 2013 — consistent with the travel-logistics role Groff performed for other Epstein associates and guests (Groff email, February 22, 2013).
On April 10–11, 2013, Epstein invited Musk to "dinner with woody allen and crowd" at his New York townhouse and noted that Ehud Barak, Israel's former prime minister and defense minister, was also in town (Epstein–Musk exchange, April 10–11, 2013).
In July 2013, Musk wrote about demand for Tesla vehicles in Israel — "Not a week passes without a request from someone important in Israel... wanting to bring Tesla there" — and Epstein invited him to Santa Fe, near Zorro Ranch, for August (Epstein–Musk exchange, July 22–23, 2013).
On September 11, 2013, Epstein invited Musk to an event in New York tied to United Nations diplomats. Musk declined, citing SpaceX's launch schedule: "I run and lead product design/engineering for two complicated companies... Flying to NY to see UN diplomats do nothing would be an unwise use of time." Epstein replied, "do you think iam retarded, . ? just kidding, there is no one over 25 and all very cute" (Epstein–Musk exchange, September 11, 2013). The document does not identify who, if anyone, attended in Musk's place, and nothing in the record indicates Musk was aware of or responded to that characterization.
On December 25, 2013, Musk wrote to Epstein and Groff about New Year's plans: "Actually, I could fly back early on the 3rd. We will be in St Bart's. When should we head to your island on the 2nd?" Two days later, Groff forwarded the message to Epstein asking, "Did we need to organize Elon to your island on Jan 2nd?" (Groff–Epstein forward, December 27, 2013). A subsequent exchange in early January and February 2014 shows the visit did not proceed as planned — Epstein wrote "sorry it didn't work, out just getting over it" — followed later by an invitation for breakfast with Musk "or you and talulah" (Epstein–Musk exchange, January–February 2014; [vol00010-efta01941151-pdf)).

Epstein wrote, "you are welcome to the island. reid is coming with joi ito, on the 6th of dec come vist" — referencing LinkedIn co-founder Reid Hoffman and then-MIT Media Lab director Joi Ito, both of whom appear elsewhere in the archive in connection with Epstein. Musk replied briefly, "Ok" (Epstein–Musk exchange, September 2, 2014).

The archive's entity profile for Musk, compiled from EFTA production metadata, lists no financial transactions between Musk and Epstein. No document reviewed for this article — nor any flight manifest published elsewhere in the archive — confirms that a visit to Little Saint James or Zorro Ranch actually took place; the correspondence documents invitations, scheduling discussions, and at least two occasions where planned meetings fell through. No document reviewed names or references any minor in connection with Musk. The correspondence reviewed here does not extend past September 2014.
